BLog update 2014

I have time to sit and give the blog a much deserved update. The technologies around Wrodpress are finally mature enough to do the things I wanted and I myself have evolved to a state where I am ok with NOT writing my own Theme. Pinboard has just the right ratio of graphic and text that it piqued my interest.suits my taste during testing.

Email Subscribers Attention:

That said, the most important thing for people who read this in their email is that you’ll have to visit the actual site and sign up again. I’ve changed the email subscription to be handled by WordPress.com by using Jetpack.

The site now looks like this:

New features

There are now more reason to actually come to the site and click on a post. Each posts have their related posts featured at the end and the site will have the live update of my social media data.

Facebook and Twitter removal from front page

The biggest change is eliminating Facebook and Twitter from showing up on the main page. The will eventually have their own little spot, but I am working on scraping my Facebook data first. It looks like they really hate anything that downloads data from their site and keeps banning them, even if it is my own data.

Reorganization

I have cleaned up the tags and slimmed down on the Menu so there’s less choice. Pages will be reorganized soon to make them a lot more relevant to the big events in my life.
