Around the world: Tirana
Something is different in this place. An Albanian girl hit on me very aggressively on the bus from Vorë to Tirana. She wants to come to Canada and was wondering if I can help. So I left her my Facebook account… sadly she didn’t add me.
When I arrived at the hostel, an asian girl saw me and gave me a big smile. It felt like a smile of recognition. It reminded me of that Canadian cowgirl in Florence. Same smile.
After a while, I stopped traveling for the sights. The reason is that I’ve seen a lot of beautiful things and once that happens, the desire to see something similar but less grandiose diminishes. Traveling became more of a journey to meet people and everything chance I can get to interact, I take it. That and hiking, diving, dancing.
I climbed on top of The Pyramid and talked to some of the teenagers playing on top. Learning about their life and spreading the gospel of peaceful Canada.
Lost my wallet on the bus to Kosovo and a nice lady tracked me down to return it. Then 3 dentistry students sat beside me: Kevin, Yula, Dea and we chatted the whole way to Prizren. I get more insight on their view of the world and that everyone dreams of moving to USA and Canada.
