Somethings are not meant to be perfect
When Micchi introduced System of down to me in downtown Austria, it sounded like some type of harsh beat with lyrics that makes me cringe by how weirdly it turns. It's not pure metal and it's not beautiful singing either.
Over the year I tried several times to listen to it and eventually started liking some of the songs they have. But there's always this one song that I can't stand… until I heard their live recording. That's when it all fell together. That song was not meant to be on a record with the perfectly fine tuned and digitized drumbeats.
It was meant to be sang by someone with a sore throat who've been singing the whole night. It was meant to be heard live, to be screamed out from the top of the lung. Not fine tuned in a studio where whispering can be heard from the other room.
It all made sense and my neighboor downstairs is knocking on my door again…
